Enjoying Beach Summer Holidays

If you have children then you may know that they like nothing more than spending their summer holidays down at the beach, building sand castles and splashing about in the sea. Such holidays can be great fun, but there are a number of issues that you’ll need to consider. In this article we take a look at holiday costs, child safety and keeping adults entertained too.Let’s begin with the issue of cost, since this is likely to be very important. Here in the UK, most children do not have to attend school for around six weeks at the height of summer. As a result, this is a time of year when many parents decide to book holidays abroad with their kids. There is, however, one major problem with this scenario. Since many families are looking to travel at the same time of year, this is high demand for flights and accommodation. That means that prices will be higher too.

It can be difficult to avoid the issue of cost, but you can concentrate on getting a better holiday deal by being flexible when you come to make a booking. It certainly helps if you’re willing to make use of the internet as many online travel companies are able to offer significant discounts.Some people like to book with a specialist tour operator. This can certainly take much of the stress out of the entire process of booking a holiday and some leading tour operators will offer additional extras, including entertainment for your children on the holiday. Do remember, however, that the safety of your kids may be a concern. Always check out what sort of entertainment is on offer and find out what levels of supervision will be like.

There is a danger that adults can become bored if they don’t like a beach holiday. In this case, you may want to choose a holiday destination that will allow you to do a bit of everything. You could, for example, spend some days at the beach but also find time to do things that you want. Also you’ll want to keep the children happy, a holiday should certainly be relaxing for you too.

A Quick Guide For Your Next Summer Holiday Destination – Discover the Amazing Santorini

After spending a few years just working with no vacation at all, or with just a couple of weekends near your so-called “base” you have decided to take it to the next level and visit another country for your summer holidays.The first question that comes on your mind is where? The combination of high quality services and reasonable prices is always the case when it comes to summer vacation.Another thing that is very important is the destination itself, if it is easily accessible to everyone and if it can provide all the comforts and safety that all tourist destinations should have. Also, many tourists are interested in the sightseeing of the place and what it has to offer in terms of historical information.So the question is “where”. Well, Greece is one of these destinations. This country combines many aspects of a high quality summer destination. Firstly, there is a high level of security for the tourists and people are very friendly and hospitable. Secondly, there are many interest places that someone can visit in order to learn the history as well as the local culture of the Greek people. Finally and most importantly, the weather is just perfect. All these factors make Greece one of the “easy” solutions especially for European travelers, but not only. Many tourists from the US, Asia and Australia visit Greece during the summer.

Cyclades is one of the most famous regions of Greece consisting of many islands ready to welcome many visitors every year.Santorini is considered by many as the number one island destination amongst the Cycladic islands. The geographical position of Santorini plays an important role in Its’ popularity compared to other summer destinations. It is very famous for the breathtaking view of the “caldera” and the volcano dominating in the middle of the complex.The white color is dominant as well as the blue in almost every building of the island. The unique architecture style with the round tops and the multilevel surfaces around buildings create an unusual and spectacular view.The history of the island is very rich and the prehistoric settlement in Akrotiri village will satisfy even the most demanding of tourists. Anyway, the volcano is by itself the main tourist attraction.The island is not famous for the golden sand beaches due to the fact that the geomorphology of the ground is closely related to the volcanic activity that took place during the past centuries. Nevertheless, there are many of them even with different color (black, red, white), all very well-organized, that provide the visitors with quite a few options during their stay. Furthermore, traveling around Santorini is easy as there are many car rentals that can provide a car for hire unless you don’t drive and choose to use the local buses and taxis.Accommodation is something you don’t need to worry about in this island. Large number of options for different budgets and needs. You want room with a volcano view, private balcony? You have it. Or a big hotel complex with big swimming pool, gym and tennis court? You have it. Or you just want a nice economical clean room? Again you have it.Many hotels and rooms to choose from, even a public camping is available. There is no need to mention anything about the food except maybe three words: ”moussaka” and ”Greek salad”.

(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});
Last but not least is the nightlife. There is an extremely large number of bars, clubs and cafeterias as well as restaurants and fast food stores for any taste and budget in every village of the island open until very late at night. Some of them operate 24 hours a day.So, what more can anyone ask? In Santorini you have great – in fact one of the best in the world- view, nice beaches to enjoy the sun and the sea of the Aegean, large number of historical data for the volcano and the culture of the island, and rich nightlife for all types of tourists.In closing, many people argue that one of the places that someone has to visit before they leave this world is Santorini. My advise to you all out there is to visit Thira (another name) and I am sure you won’t regret it.Personally, I think that I am very lucky to have witnessed this view and lived such an amazing experience, end of discussion.

5 Keys to Putt Better Now

A typical 18 hole, Par 72 golf course will feature the following combination of holes:10 Par 4’s = 40 strokes
4 Par 5’s = 20 strokes
4 Par 3’s = 12 strokesFurthermore, if we break down the number of shots per hole by type, you get the following statistics:Drive – 18 strokes (25% of total), Includes all shots made from a teeing area.
Approach – 18 strokes (25% of total), includes all shots made to hit the green as well as lay-up shots on the Par 5’s.
Putts – 36 strokes (50% of total), includes all shots made on the green or putting surface.Clearly, if putting accounts for over half of the strokes made in a typical round of golf, then we need to start paying more attention to that part of our games. Let’s start with these 5 Keys to Putt Better Now and get started down the path to lower scores:1. Establish a Pre-Putt Routine – Anyone who has watched professional golfers on television have seen that there are numerous different pre-putt routines. But at a minimum, every golfer should evaluate the following conditions prior to each and every putt:a. Speed of the greenb. Slope of the greenc. Check your line and remove any loose impediments and repair any ball marks.

(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});
d. Take a quick look from behind the hole opposite the side your ball is on, halfway between your ball and the hole, and from behind your ball.Again, these are the minimum conditions that I evaluate and you may add or delete certain conditions as you develop your own pre-putt routine. Remember to maintain the pace of play as many of these steps can be performed while your partners play or as you walk onto the green. At no time should you distract your partners from their shots nor should you allow your pre-putt routine to exceed 1 – 2 minutes. By employing your own pre-putt routine prior to every putt, you should start to shave a few strokes off your score.2. Take Careful Aim – Following your pre-putt routine, make sure to take careful aim down your intended putting line or all of your previous efforts will be for naught. Utilize a mark on the green about 4 – 6 inches in front of your ball and along your intended line of putt. You may choose to align a mark on your ball as most golf balls nowadays are pre-printed with an alignment aid, or you can add your own mark. Most putters also have an alignment aid as well, so use all of the tools available to ensure that you’re aimed down the line you have chosen. When all three of these marks are aligned properly, your chances of holing more putts will undoubtedly increase.3. Develop a Repeatable Putting Stroke – As they say, “Practice Makes Perfect.” Putts account for half the strokes in a typical 18 hole round of golf, so it seems that it would go without saying that we should spend half of our practice time putting. How many of you weekend golfers, myself included, actually devote enough practice time to putting?When you practice putting, make sure to incorporate your pre-putt routine on every putt with some reason. Don’t just rapid fire putts one after another like most golfers I see on the practice green. Take your time to carefully line up each shot.Putting practice should follow some kind of routine. Start from the longest distance you believe you’ll face out on the course and work your way in towards the hole. Typically, the majority of putts you’ll face will be within 15 – 20 feet or less so concentrate on those ranges. Also, set some sort of goal for each length of putt you attempt. For instance, on longer putts I putt three balls and have to two putt each one before I move on to a new distance. For shorter putts, I try to make all three balls in one putt before moving on.

(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});
4. Observe Your Partners Putt – Watch your other playing partners putt in order to gain valuable insight as to how your putt may perform. Even if your putt is not on the same line as theirs, information such as speed of the green can be gained. Often, by watching other players putt can be some of the best information you can obtain.5. Alleviate Tension – Whether you’re putting for the win on the 72nd hole of The Masters, or hovering over a three-footer for birdie at your home course, tension will be present. How we deal with that tension will ultimately be the deciding factor in our success. You’ve put in a lot of work getting to this point, so don’t let tension ruin your putting stroke. As with any shot in golf, take a few practice swings / putts to alleviate any tension that may have built up while you’ve been waiting to play. Also, remember not to choke the grip of your putter as this is a sure way to translate tension into your shot.By employing the previous 5 Keys to Putt Better Now, you should be able to reduce the number of putts you make per round. We’ll talk more about putting in future articles and get more in depth on how to read the greens, etc…

Accuracy, Not Power Is The Key To A Better Golf Swing

As an avid golfer I truly enjoy all aspects of the game but for me the most difficult time comes right before my driver smacks the golf ball. Unfortunately I suffer from a problem of wanting to hit the golf ball as hard as possible in order to send it down the fairway. What I’ve discovered is although this technique may help me relieve a little bit of stress built up throughout the week; it does absolutely nothing remotely good for my golf game or score. In fact quite the opposite is true. The harder I hit the golf ball the higher my golf score is at the end of a round and even worse I have less control on where I want my golf ball to land. I quickly come to realize that hitting a golf ball without trying to rip the cover off the ball actually improves my game.The key to a good golf game begins with your driving skills and swinging of the club. If you want to steadily improve your game and lower your score then you need to ease off the power strokes and instead concentrate on a more natural and accurate swing. True a powerful swing does look impressive but not when you send your golf ball onto the next fairway thereby losing any chance of achieving a par on your current hole.

(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});
The best way to drive for accuracy is to avoid swinging the golf club as hard as you can. Instead concentrate on relaxing and focusing on striking the golf ball. This simple technique will allow you to reduce your power but won’t diminish the distance the ball goes once struck by your driver. One crucial thing you must avoid as you focus on hitting your golf ball is the tendency to tense up. Doing so won’t allow you to accurately drive your ball with your stroke. One thing you may want to do is try various ways of positioning your feet. This can also add or decrease to your power and allow you to control where your golf ball lands after hitting it with your golf club.Ask anyone that golf’s on a regular basis and they will also tell you that staying put once you position your feet will help in your driving distance. Just like a boxer, your center of gravity must be stable. This keeps your body from head to toe properly aligned allowing for a better golf swing. An important tip here is to keep your weight evenly positioned and fully supported by your feet. This prevents any adverse body jerking which destroys your focus and causes your head to move thus taking your eyes off the golf ball you’re about to hit.By following the methods mentioned above you’ll find that you golf club will travel in a relatively straight line allowing the club head to strike the golf ball with an enormous force without all of the intentional power that causes you to throw your balance out of whack.

(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});
Slicing is another problem that plagues many golfers. The key to avoiding it is to hit the golf ball directly in the center of your club head and with a low trajectory. This keeps the golf ball from going to the far right or left where it usually ends of leaving the fairway and going into what’s commonly referred to as the rough.So what’s the moral of this article? The reality is a golf ball will travel further once hit by a correct swing from a focused golfer as opposed to a pure power swing. Simply put you should only be concerned with using the amount of power that allows you to effectively control where to send the golf ball.
